What pawn shops share with PawnMeter, and what they never share
Short answer: a shop that shares data with PawnMeter shares four things per item: the product, the price, the condition and the date. It never shares anything about its customers, and other shops never see its name. It can stop and have its data deleted at any time.
What is shared
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Product | Samsung Galaxy A54 128GB |
| Price | The sale or loan amount |
| Condition | Good |
| Date | 2026-09-14 |
For cars, the make, model, year, kilometres and fuel are added, because those decide what is comparable.
What is never shared
- Customer names, ID numbers, addresses, phone numbers or email addresses.
- Number plates or vehicle identification numbers (VINs).
- Contracts, receipts or photos of documents.
PawnMeter refuses an uploaded file if it has columns for any of these, so they cannot be shared by mistake.
How the data is used
Prices from all participating shops are combined into medians and ranges for comparable items. Other shops see prices, never which shop a price came from.
Leaving
A shop can withdraw its data at any time by email, and its data is then deleted. Shops that share data pay the lower data partner price for as long as they share.
Why it is worth it
The more shops share, the more comparable sales there are, and the fewer items get the answer "no price". Every participating shop benefits from the others' data.
PawnMeter: Type the item. PawnMeter shows the resale price and a suggested loan, calculated only from what comparable items really sold for. When there is not enough data, it says so instead of guessing.
